The gardens will only permit blankets that have no black backing.

PICNIC CHAIR REQUIREMENTS

All chairs brought on site MUST have broad-based feet. This means having two connected feet rather than four individual legs so to protect the grass. The gardens have provided the following examples below.

Click on the pictures for purchase links. If you can’t afford these and are unable to sit on the ground, there will be VERY LIMITED seating on the stage. These seats are the ‘Reserved stage seating’ on the ticket website.

The best affordable chair available is: Dune 4WD Directors Chair with Side Table

Failure to comply may result in stricter restrictions being enforced.

What are the Food options onsite?

Amidst the ferns in Geelong Botanic Gardens is ‘WYM’, a family-owned café. Open late for the Soirees, indulge in locally sourced pastries, specialty coffees, teas, and a tempting array of homemade picnic cheese and dip platters, wraps, and toasties.

You are also welcome to bring take-away food or a picnic.

You must put your rubbish in bins provided by the event – or take it home. We do not have the resources or capacity within our small budget to pick up after you.

Yes there is a lot of shade in the viewing area from large trees as well as large umbrellas provided. Best to come early so to reserve a good spot in the shade.

Is the event free, do I need a ticket?

The event is not free, we rely on ticket sales to meet our large expenses including venue hire, musicians, crew etc. That said we charge the minimum amount we can possibly manage as we put this on for the good of the community. Tickets can be booked at musicatgbg.com
